Wiring

Connection Wire Source / Destination Notes
Battery cable 4 AWG, supplied, 125 A fuse AUX battery positive post → module stud. The fuse holder sits at the battery end. Nothing else may land on the module stud1
Ground Black, 18 AWG Module → AUX battery negative post Must go directly to the battery negative to keep the communications bus quiet1
Ignition Light blue Open: an ignition- or accessory-switched fuse tap Enables switches programmed as Ignition (the default), and turns on the panel backlight4 8
Lights / Trigger 2 White High-beam signal Set up as Trigger 2, turning on up to 4 outputs, so it no longer dims the backlight10. See Trigger Inputs.
Trigger 1 Pink Reverse lamp signal Turns on up to 4 outputs from an external signal, active high or low5. See Trigger Inputs.
Outputs 1-8 14 AWG Module → loads Load grounds go to the frame or the battery negative3

Ignition input and Bluetooth

While a phone is connected over Bluetooth, every switch works with the key off, including those programmed as Ignition. Battery-mode outputs that are on stay on if the connection drops7. To make a switch always available, program it as Battery instead.

Output wire gauge

The 14 AWG output wires are good for 20 A on runs up to 6 ft. For longer runs at full current, SwitchPros recommends 12 or 10 AWG3. Size each run to its actual load, and set that output's current limit to protect the wire. This matches the owner's minimal-wire preference from the LJ build.

Trigger Inputs

Both inputs are used as triggers, and backlight dimming is dropped (owner decision, 2026-09-24). The white wire can either dim the backlight or act as Trigger 2, not both. SwitchPros says Lights/T2 must stay disabled as a trigger if it dims the backlight, and the backlight can only be adjusted while the white wire sees 12 V5 10. With white used as a trigger, the backlight stays at one fixed brightness.

Input Wire Signal App setup Outputs it turns on
Trigger 1 Pink Reverse lamp Enable. Active high, to be confirmed with a meter. Switch 3, reverse lights
Trigger 2 White High beam Lights/T2 set to Enable, converting it to a trigger. Active high, to be confirmed with a meter. None assigned. The light bar does not follow the high beams (owner, 2026-09-24).

Outputs that a trigger turns on can still be switched on and off from the panel5.

Switch Panel Mount

Chosen: the SwitchPros A-pillar replacement panel, P/N PSPLH-1 (owner decision, 2026-09-24). It is listed as "fits 2011-2017 Jeep Wrangler JK" and works with the SP910014. It replaces the A-pillar trim panel and comes pre-machined for the switch panel. The switch panel itself is not included.

The alternative was Motobilt's MB8002 center dash mount, which is listed for 2007-2011 JKs only11.

The 10.5 ft control cable cannot be shortened or lengthened6. Check that it reaches the A-pillar before fixing the power module's location.

Switch Assignments

Assigned by the owner, 2026-09-24. Mode is the SwitchPros default until changed8.

Switch Rating Load Draw Current limit Mode Trigger
1 20 A Light bar Not recorded - Ignition - (manual only)
2 20 A Rock lights Not recorded - Ignition -
3 20 A Reverse lights Not recorded - Ignition Trigger 1, reverse
4 20 A Front locker (Rubicon e-locker, see below) Not recorded - Ignition -
5 35 A Rear locker (Rubicon e-locker, see below) Not recorded - Ignition -
6 35 A Spare - - - -
7 35 A Spare - - - -
8 35 A Spare - - - -
  • Loads over about 17 A go on switches 5-8. Switches 1-4 top out at 20 A, and SwitchPros recommends setting the current limit 15-20% above the load's maximum draw2 3. Check the light bar's draw first. If it is more than about 17 A, move it to switch 6, 7, or 8.
  • Lockers: leave Memory off (the default). With Memory on, a switch that was on at shutdown turns itself back on when the ignition returns8.
  • Switch 5 has two output wires. If the rear locker draws under 17 A, one wire is enough3. Insulate the unused wire, since it is live whenever the switch is on.

Swapped Rubicon lockers with no factory control

This JK is not a Rubicon. Its front and rear axles came from a donor Rubicon, so the lockers are Rubicon electric locking differentials12, not air or vacuum. There is no factory AXLE LOCK switch or locker control, so switches 4 and 5 drive the lockers directly (owner, 2026-09-24).

No factory interlocks. On a Rubicon, Jeep lets the lockers engage only with the key in, the transfer case in 4L, and the vehicle at 10 mph or less. It unlocks them when the transfer case leaves 4L or the ignition turns off13. The SP-9100 can do only the last of these: in Ignition mode with Memory off, the lockers drop out at key-off and stay unlocked at the next start8. The exception is a phone connected over Bluetooth, which overrides the ignition input7. Following the other rules is up to the driver.

The panel switch LED shows what the switch is commanding, not whether the locker has actually engaged.

Outstanding Items

  • Record each load's part number and maximum draw, then set each output's current limit. Move the light bar to switch 6-8 if it draws more than about 17 A.
  • Record the donor Rubicon's model year
  • Identify the coil and indicator-switch pins on each locker's axle connector, and confirm the coil polarity
  • Measure each locker coil's current draw, then set the current limits on switches 4 and 5
  • Choose the power module location, within 2 ft of the AUX battery, vertical, connectors facing outward, clear of the exhaust
  • Plan how the 4 AWG cable and the 18 AWG ground reach the AUX posts under the Genesis top lid. The kit includes extra grommets for accessory wires.
  • Order the SwitchPros A-pillar replacement panel (PSPLH-1), and confirm which A-pillar, driver or passenger, it replaces
  • Pick the ignition-switched fuse in the 2012 JK's TIPM for the light blue wire's add-a-circuit. The wire must read 0 V with the key off.
  • Decide what Trigger 2 (high beam) turns on. If nothing, consider restoring backlight dimming on the white wire.
  • Find the reverse-lamp and high-beam tap points on the 2012 JK, and meter each one to set active high or active low
  • Set the low-voltage disconnect threshold (11.0, 11.5, or 12.0 V) to suit the AUX battery type
  • Plan the 10.5 ft control cable route from the power module, through the firewall, to the A-pillar. Removing the black 4-pin connector is allowed; the white connector is not serviceable.
